The Fauvel AV-36 divides opinions — you either find it beautiful or ugly. One thing is certain: this single-seat glider from 1951 is a truly unique legend.
With a shape that feels like a curious blend between a P-38 and a Citroën 2CV, it reveals its full potential both on the slope and at the field. For those without access to a slope, a motorized pusher version is also available.
The AV-36 is a tailless aircraft designed by Charles Fauvel (1904–1979), known for his innovative flying wing concepts. First flown in 1951, it became his most successful design. The original features a wingspan of 11.95 m, a total weight of 225 kg, and is a pure single-seat glider
